need info about wanderers |

I've read lord archive's zero 3 series quite a while back, and then lost track of it until recently. I am considering to start writing a story too,
within the diaries universe of course, (although sadly I don't have a lot of experience in writing ), about a wandering chosen/digidestined. My problem is
that I don't know exactly what a wanderer does, how he has been chosen, how much time he/she spends in the digital world, evolution options, etc. Can you
fill me in about this, that would help me greatly in thinking about a character and things like that.

Well, for the most part, a Wandering Chosen is in an area that for one reason or another doesn't require a whole team of Chosen. This frees them up to be
able to visit other teams and help them out. For example, Vincent Strife is located in Antarctica, which for obvious reasons wouldn't have a team of Chosen
Children. So he's able to help out in areas close to his location, or its analogue in the Digital World at least. Ryo starts out the best textbook example
of a Wanderer, I think: tapped to save Odaiba from a threat that takes all of them down.

there isn't much room for wanderers then, if I look at the map. which areas can a wanderer live in? I also wonder, can a wanderer be called up to solve a big problem within the digital world, or are the chosen teams send in for those? |

The available areas for Chosen, Wanderers or whole teams, are indeed limited. As far as I know the thread Do you want to be a Diaries Author lists all the available ones (I don't think things have changed since then, have they?).
As for wanderers solving problems, Akino already mentioned the posterboy for all wanderers, Ryo. Millenniumon was a major, if not arguably the greatest, threat to the Digital World, and it was Ryo who had to take him down. So yes, a wanderer could be called to solve a major problem, but if there's a team present who can also be
called upon I think it's going to be the team handling the problem (though the wanderer could always assist). In the case of the Odaiba team Milllenniumon
messed with time to take them out of commission, necessitating Ryo's activation. And Ryo was a special case, as no one but him could take on Millenniumon.
If an enemy is strong enough to take out a whole team it's unlikely (barring special cases) that a single Chosen will be activated to handle the situation
where a whole team has already failed.

right, so simply said, if I place a wanderer in a territory without a chosen team in the vicinity, he/she can take the big cases on.. and africa is almost completely open. problem is, I'm dutch, so my knowledge about the continent is somewhat limited, save for what a read and see in the news. how about the siberian/alaskan area? siberia is open, alaska I don't know, is there someone writing already for that area? |

So am I, and I'm still plowing along well enough with the Egyptian team. You can get a long way with doing research, your readers will probably not be acquainted with many African cultures either so you can get away with small mistakes. Just make sure the characters aren't caricatures or stereotypes. As for Siberia, it's on the list so I believe it's still open. Alaska is being done by Canis, though he has been on hiatus for a while (but then, who hasn't been "I am the Light and the Darkness, I am Truth"

hmm, siberia sounds good to me then.. time to brush up on my knowledge of that area then..
one more question: is the climate the same in the digital world as in the real world in the same area? |
